Rail Tours

Ride the Alaska Railroad into remote areas that are not accessible by car.  Spectacular scenery abounds around every bend.  Short trips or long, no trip to Alaska is complete without experiencing the Alaska Railroad.  From Anchorage to Denali or down to Seward, let us help you plan your itinerary.

Every afternoon a train leaves from Portage, on the Seward Highway south of Anchorage and goes up into the Chugach National Forest returning a few hours later.  Passengers can choose to just ride and enjoy the scenery up to Grand View (aptly named) for $85 each, or they can get off part way and do an easy hike guided by a Forest Ranger for $64. You can choose to do a float trip from a mountain glacier lake back to the train pick up point for $163 and all return to Portage, or Anchorage, or Whittier.

It's a great trip, rain or shine!
