About This Tour

This is a long full-day excursion from Side to Pamukkale, one of Türkiye’s most famous UNESCO World Heritage sites. After a very early hotel pickup you travel inland through the Taurus Mountains (roughly 4 hours each way) to reach the white travertine terraces formed by mineral-rich thermal waters. You walk barefoot across the famous calcium terraces, explore the extensive ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis (including the theatre and one of Anatolia’s largest necropolises), and have free time for photos. Depending on the daily route there may be additional stops such as Karahayıt Red Springs or a photo stop near Lake Salda. An optional swim in the Cleopatra Antique Pool (among submerged Roman columns) is available for an extra fee.Breakfast and lunch are included. Entrance fees to the archaeological site are usually paid on the day. The day is long and involves significant time on the road, so it suits travellers who prioritise seeing a major natural and historical landmark over a relaxed coastal day.Expect approximately 14 hours door-to-door. Wear comfortable shoes that are easy to remove (you must walk barefoot on the terraces), bring sunscreen, a hat, swimwear if you plan to use the optional pool, and water. It is the most substantial cultural day trip available from Side.
